We are so happy to have Katie join us once again! Her presentation at last year's Oktoberfest was so informative that we vowed to devote an entire meetup to her research. And so here it is! You won't want to miss this.
About the Speaker
Katherine Driggs-Campbell is currently a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in the Stanford Intelligent Systems Laboratory (http://web.stanford.edu/group/sisl/cgi-bin/wordpress/
) working with Prof. Mykel Kochenderfer. Prior to that, she received a B.S.E. with honors from Arizona State University in 2012 and a M.S. from UC Berkeley in 2015. In May of 2017, Katie earned her PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, advised by Prof. Ruzena Bajcsy. Her work focuses on developing tools for trustworthy autonomy, specifically focusing on intelligent vehicles. She combines new AI techniques like deep learning with classic control theory to provide high performance and safety guarantees. Currently, Katie is leading an industry sponsored research project to develop autonomous systems that can effectively perceive and interact with the environment and adapts to new, rare encounters.
Refreshments will provided. Networking begins at 6:30pm, and the presentation starts at 7:00. Following the presentation will be Q&A, more networking and a chance to try out fka's BMW driving simulator.
