The SAE AE-8B committee addresses all facets of development and standardization of sound engineering practices associated with design and use of Protective and Control Devices used in aerospace vehicles and equipment. The committee provides a forum for gathering and disseminating technical information on fuses, circuit breakers, switches, electromechanical and solid state relays.

The committee is dedicated to creating, preparing, and maintaining all relevant specifications, standards, and requirements for the installation of these system types.


Participants in the SAE AE-8B committee include OEMs, airframe manufacturers, airline and other aircraft operators, systems suppliers, the military, NASA, government agencies (e.g., the FAA and CAA), component manufacturers, consulting firms, and academia.
