SAE International is seeking individuals to join the Airport/ Ground Operations Equipment Systems Group Committees to participate in the standards development process.
Please consider lending your expertise to one or more of the following areas of development by clicking the "apply now" button above.
AGE-2 Air Cargo Committee addresses all facets of air cargo equipment design, performance, maintenance, and in-service operation. It is concerned with the broad aspects of air cargo equipment including Unit Load Device (ULD) and tie down equipment.
AGE-3 Aircraft Ground Support Equipment Committee addresses all aspects of airport, ground support equipment and associated systems that interface or require compatibility with the aircraft. The objectives of the Committee are: a) Develop and maintain technical standards, specifications and reports related to aircraft ground servicing and in particular to: - Airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE) - Aircraft to GSE interface - GSE operation, maintenance and operator training - Airport facilities and systems that have a direct relationship to and interface with GSE - GSE environment related issues, including noise and emissions. b) Provide a forum for exchange of technical information related to aircraft ground operations where issues can be addressed and resolved. c) Coordinate and harmonize worldwide standards development with CEN TC 274, ISO TC 20/SC9, IATA GSEE and other standardization groups. d) Promote the global use of high quality standards and practices within the aircraft ground servicing scope. e) Promote research and innovation in any topics related to the scope of the Committee. Participants in the SAE AGE-3 include OEMs, ground handling companies, airlines, suppliers, consulting firms and other actors across the aerospace and defense industries.
AGE-4 Packaging, Handling and Transportability Committee addresses all facets of aircraft cargo and ground equipment–design, maintenance, and in-service experience. Concerned with the broad aspects of aircraft cargo and ground support equipment and systems, and provides direction for committees AGE-2A and AGE-2D, as they develop standards addressing this subject area. The group is comprised of three subcommittees dedicated to creating, preparing, and maintaining all relevant specifications, standards, and requirements for aircraft cargo and support equipment systems.
G-12 Aircraft Ground Deicing Steering Group Committee addresses all facets of aircraft ground deicing equipment–design, maintenance, operation, and in-service experience. It provides a focal point for the related activities of the various specialty groups and committees dealing with aircraft ground deicing. The group is comprised of eight subcommittees dedicated to creating, preparing, and maintaining all relevant specifications, standards, and requirements for aircraft ground deicing systems.
G-15 Airport Snow and Ice Control Equipment Committee addresses all facets of airport snow and ice removal equipment–design, maintenance, operation, and in-service experience. It was formed in response to an FAA request in 1999 for a technical committee to prepare industry specifications for airport snow and ice control equipment and to provide rapid response to technological changes occurring in the aviation industry. The group is dedicated to creating, preparing, and maintaining all relevant specifications, standards, and requirements for airport snow and ice control systems.
