Help ignite STEM potential in the next generation! Get involved as a volunteer to support these programs in-person or virtually.
The Electric Vehicle Learning Center (EV-LC) aims to engage, educate, and inspire the next generation in the emerging field of electric vehicle technology. They achieve this through access to information, professional instruction, innovative school programming, digital platforms, and community events.
SAE’s award-winning A World In Motion® (AWIM®) program is currently being used in many of the EV-LC program offerings for K-12 students including summer camps, after-school programs, events, and virtual/remote learning opportunities.
AWIM is an inquiry-based learning experience that brings STEM concepts to life, setting students on a path of lifelong learning and discovery. Starting with the youngest learners, from preschool through 12th grade, AWIM combines practical, experiential learning with mentorship from industry volunteers and ongoing training and support for educators to provide equitable access to STEM.
The program volunteer at EV-LC serves as an in-person or virtual resource for educators and mentor/role model for students. As such, you will have the opportunity to influence and enhance the ways in which our youth are prepared to meet the challenges of the electrified future. For a short-term, flexible time commitment, you will help make learning fun, help students discover the exciting application of science and math principles, and share information about rewarding career paths.
