“SAE International is seeking Experts for the Battery Materials Testing Committee. This is a call for experts to join the Battery Materials Testing Committee. The committee is in search for experts in the fields of anodes, cathodes, electrolytes, and separators for lithium batteries. This committee focuses on physical and chemical properties of material in lithium batteries application. The importance of those four items is increasing as more vehicles are utilizing lithium batteries in their propulsion systems.
The scope for this committee is to identify key properties and measurement test methods for materials used in lithium batteries. The committee is in the process of updating four previously published SAE documents in order to reflect significant changes that have occurred in battery materials technology. The four documents are:
J2983 (Recommended Practice for Determining Material Properties of Li-Battery Separator),
J3021 (Recommended Practice for Determining Material Properties of Li-Battery Cathode Active Materials),
J3042 (Measuring Properties of Li-Battery Electrolyte), and
J3159 (Techniques for Measuring the Properties of Lithium and Lithium-Ion Battery Anode Active Materials)
